The Smart Campus initiative is a cornerstone program under Commissioner Apag's chairmanship. Recognizing that digital connectivity is no longer a luxury but an academic necessity, this initiative provides funding and policy frameworks for SUCs to upgrade their technological infrastructure. Key components include campus-wide fiber-optic backbones, hybrid learning classrooms equipped with smart screens and lecture-capture technology, centralized student portals, and cloud-based learning management systems (LMS). By transitioning to smart campuses, universities can expand access to higher education, streamline administrative processes, and provide students with flexible, modern learning options.
