Rededication and Resolute Governance: Strengthening EVSU's Commitment to Excellence

During the Rededication Ceremony of President Dennis C. De Paz, Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III emphasized that leadership in Higher Education is never static; it evolves, it is tested by challenges, and it is proven through consistent service. He stressed that leadership is not measured by the permanence of position, but by the permanence of purpose. “Hindi ito tungkol sa puwesto, kundi sa paninindigan at prinsipyo.” Rededication, he noted, is a public affirmation that accountability, integrity, and commitment must only grow stronger with time.
Commending President De Paz and the entire Administration, the Commissioner underscored that institutions move forward through shared vision, disciplined systems, unity of purpose, and courageous decision-making. He reminded the academic community, faculty, personnel, and students that progress is sustained when responsibility is chosen over convenience and when excellence is pursued not as compliance, but as conviction.
As Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education, he reaffirmed CHED’s support for institutions that lead with integrity and accountability, emphasizing that support goes hand in hand with standards. “Ang tiwala ng bayan ay hindi libre.” Autonomy carries responsibility, innovation carries accountability, and leadership is ultimately measured by the lives shaped and the future prepared for the nation.
