Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) is a public state university headquartered in Tacloban City and is one of the leading higher education institutions in Region VIII (Eastern Visayas). Established as a state university through Republic Act No. 9311 in 2004, EVSU traces its origins to the Leyte Trade School, which was founded in 1907. The university has expanded into a multi-campus system, providing accessible and quality higher education across Leyte and nearby provinces.
