Institutional Overview

Mountain Province State University (MPSU) is a public state university located in Bontoc, Mountain Province, and is the only state university in the province. The institution traces its origins to the Mountain Province Community College established in 1969 and was converted into the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College in 1992 through Republic Act No. 7182. It officially attained university status in 2024 following the implementation of Republic Act No. 12016 and the Commission on Higher Education's approval of its compliance with the requirements for university conversion. MPSU is committed to providing quality instruction, advancing research and innovation, and delivering responsive extension services that contribute to sustainable regional and national development. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in education, agriculture, engineering, business, information technology, criminology, hospitality management, and other allied disciplines across its campuses in Bontoc, Tadian, Bauko, and Paracelis.
