Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) is a public state university located in Estancia, Iloilo, serving as one of the leading higher education institutions in Region VI (Western Visayas). Formerly known as the Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC), it was converted into a state university through Republic Act No. 10597, as amended by Republic Act No. 11005. The university operates eight campuses across Northern Iloilo, providing accessible and quality higher education to students in the province and neighboring communities. NISU is committed to delivering quality instruction, advancing research and innovation, and strengthening extension services that contribute to regional and national development. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs in education, engineering, agriculture, fisheries, information technology, business, hospitality management, criminology, public administration, and other allied disciplines.
