Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU) is a public state university located in Calbayog City, Samar, and is one of the leading higher education institutions in Region VIII (Eastern Visayas). Established as a state university through Republic Act No. 9719 in 2009, NwSSU is committed to providing quality instruction, advancing research and innovation, and delivering responsive extension services that contribute to regional and national development. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in education, agriculture, engineering, information technology, business, health sciences, criminal justice, and other allied disciplines.
